It’s snowing. The mountains are covered. Ski hills are opening. Avalanches will be falling (tomorrow). So I figure this song by the Rural Alberta Advantage would be fitting, since I don’t know of any songs about sliding snow.
This song is about Frank’s Slide which was a landslide that came off the side of a mountain and cleared out the town of Frank.
The lead singer is actually an engineer (UofA Computers, 02) and graduated the same year as me. Too bad I didn’t know him back then. He’d be pretty rad to hang out with. Now they live in Toronto, but they still bare ‘Alberta’ in their name. Neat!
