Music Thursday – The RAA

It’s snowing. The mountains are covered. Ski hills are opening. Avalanches will be falling (tomorrow). So I figure this song by the Rural Alberta Advantage would be fitting, since I don’t know of any songs about sliding snow.

This song is about Frank’s Slide which was a landslide that came off the side of a mountain and cleared out the town of Frank.

The lead singer is actually an engineer (UofA Computers, 02) and graduated the same year as me. Too bad I didn’t know him back then. He’d be pretty rad to hang out with. Now they live in Toronto, but they still bare ‘Alberta’ in their name. Neat!

Hope you like the song :)
